What Is A Starter Kit?
A starter kit is a kit that comes with everything needed to start vaping. If you’re buying a box mod, chances are that you’ll be getting the tank, the mod, the charger, and even the coils. If you are buying a pod system, then you’ll most likely be getting the device as well as replacement pods and the charger. Starter kits are the best way to start vaping because, due to their all-inclusive bundling, you stand to save a lot of money (especially with box mods).
The Different Types Of Vape Kits
You should know that we only sell two kinds of starter kits. These are pod systems and box mod starter kits. We have determined these to be the most commonly used vape kits on the market, and depending on what type of vaper you are, you might want one or the other.
For example, we believe if you are a new vaper who has tried disposables and wants to commit to a refillable device, you should go with a pod system starter kit. These kits are small and compact, and are perfect for new vapers because, depending how powerful the device you buy is, you can use both nicotine salts and regular vape juice with your pod system.
If you already have a pod system but want to graduate to something with more power, then box mods are the logical move. They come equipped with LED screens which allow for different vape settings, but importantly, they are more powerful, often reaching 200W which equates to more cloud production (meaning more direct-to-lung, more on this later).

Direct-To-Lung vs. Mouth-To-Lung
In the last section, we told you that we are choosing box mods and pod systems because they are the most common starter kits, and that is true, but the reason we chose these two is also because they represent the two vaping inhale types that exist. These two types are direct-to-lung and mouth-to-lung.
When people refer to mouth-to-lung inhalation they usually refer to the user inhaling first into their mouth and later on into their lungs, as if they were smoking a cigarette. Mouth-to-lung is usually associated with pod systems because pod systems don’t necessarily create the excessive vapor responsible for filling up the lungs.
In comparison, direct-to-lung is often used with box mods because of their cloud production capabilities. This method involves taking a deep inhale to draw the vapor directly into the lungs and holding for a few seconds before exhaling.
Usually most vape shops will refer to pod systems as mouth-to-lung devices, and box mods to direct-to-lung devices, however, these distinctions have recently become blurred in recent years as pod systems become more powerful and are ramping up their cloud production capabilities, creating hybrid devices that allow for both vaping styles.
What Vape Juices Should I Use?
Ideally, with mouth-to-lung devices or pod systems you want to use nicotine salts, since they are perfect for low power devices. You can learn more about nicotine salts here but essentially they are a type of nicotine that is more potent than the nicotine used in traditional vape juice and since they are more potent require a less powerful device. With nicotine salts the nicotine levels can range from 18mg, 25mg or even 50mg.
With direct-to-lung devices you want to use traditional vape juice. This is because of their higher wattage range they can burn better the vape juice which many times contains more vegetable glycerin which sometimes can clog pod systems. These vape juices also produce more vapor, ideal for direct-to-lung vaping. Usually nicotine levels for these vape juices range from 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, to 12 and even 18mg.
We hope that with this small and quick guide you are able to choose the best starter kit for your needs. Remember pod systems are better for new vapers who are buying their first device since they are easier to maintain and use. For more experienced vapers you should check out box mods which will generate more clouds and give you more options when it comes to your vaping style.
